Todmorden Touchwood

We all have our stories ~ walking between the worlds

Todmorden is just like any other English town. It's a town with its own unique history.
Everyone in the town has their own story. Many are stories about being or feeling different.

Todmorden Touchwood is a project which aims to collect some of those stories, using them to weave a new story. A Story that will be meaningful for all.

A collaboration between the Shaggy Dog Storytellers , in association with Todmorden Children’s Centre, and Calderdale Council, backed by Heritage Lottery funding. Todmorden Touchwood will work with schools and community groups, giving a fresh voice to the people of Todmorden.

The nine-month-long project began in October 2007. Todmorden schoolchildren held a Poetry Slam on May 22 2008. On June 20 2008 a final celebration, featuring stories, music, poetry will take place.

Touchwood is a work in progress, new magic is added daily. We hope you enjoy what you find. Keep coming back, you may even be tempted to contribute a story or two of your own.
